Empowering Torfaen with Communication & Digital Skills

Our project provides a welcoming space where residents can learn how modern communication works — from broadcasting and media production to everyday digital tools used to stay in touch with friends, family, services, and the wider community.

Many people experience barriers when it comes to technology and communication. Street Creative aims to reduce digital isolation by giving people the knowledge and confidence to use communication tools effectively, helping them stay informed, connected, and involved in their community.

What We Do

Street Creative offers a range of practical workshops and hands-on learning opportunities designed to help people develop the communication and digital skills that are increasingly important in everyday life.

Media Production Workshops – learning how audio and video content is created for community broadcasting and online platforms
Digital Skills Workshops – building confidence using computers, smartphones, and online services
Email and Online Communication Training – helping people understand email, messaging, and online communication tools
Video Communication Tools – learning to use platforms such as video calls and online meetings to stay connected with others
Online Safety and Digital Awareness – understanding privacy, security, and safe internet use
Content Creation and Storytelling – learning how to share ideas, stories, and information through digital media
Communication and Presentation Skills – building confidence speaking, interviewing, and participating in discussions
Basic Audio and Video Editing – learning how digital media is recorded and produced
Social Media and Online Engagement – understanding how digital platforms can be used responsibly for communication and information sharing

Tackling Digital Isolation

In today’s world, the ability to communicate digitally is essential for staying connected to services, opportunities, and social networks. However, many people still face challenges when it comes to accessing or understanding digital communication tools.

Street Creative helps address this issue by providing opportunities for people to learn the skills needed to:
